CMJ Weekend

This weekend myself and 3 members of the WMAR e-board attended the CMJ music marathon! Its hard to put into words how amazing it was, but I'll try to give you all some highlights:

#1) Donovan Frankenreiter: While I pride myself on not being a typical college student listening to DMB and OAR while simultaneously playing Frisbee and getting high, I can't help but love Donovan. His music is so uplifting, and it was hard for me to stand still while he jammed out. However, after half an hour of the guy next to me screaming "Fuck yeah bro, yeah donny, play it!" I had enough.

#2) NY Premiere of Zack and Miri Make a Porno: So funny. Not typical Kevin Smith, but absolutely hysterical none the less.

#3) They Might Be Giants performing Flood in its entirety. Need I say more? So much fun. So upbeat.

#4) Hip Hop Live Tour, featuring B.O.B., David Banner, Little Brother, & Talib Kweli. B.O.B. was probably my favorite out of all the acts. This was an intense show, and all of the artists were exceptionally talented. Check out I'll Be In The Sky by B.O.B., I guarantee you'll love it.

I am currently still attempting to recover from the marathon. This upcoming weekend I'll be heading to Ohio with my good friend Dylan to help film a documentary. I'll be updating when we get back on Sunday.

On to bigger and better things!

hello!

so I'm starting this blog partially because it will be linked to WMAR's website, but also I'm doing it for me.

So first, an introduction: My name is Theresa and I'm a Radio/TV/Film major at Marist College, in my senior year. I'm the FM director of the college radio station, WMAR. I love the station and all of the people I work with. I love music, books, movies, and photography. I love college, but I'm also looking forward to graduating and starting the rest of my life.

Very recently my life has changed drastically, and I have some adjusting to do. Luckily I'm surrounded by amazing people who are helping me along the way, and I'm taking things one day at a time. I now realize that I'm a good person, and I only deserve the best that life and the people around me have to offer, so I'm staying positive and doing my best to enjoy my last year here.

I'll be blogging every few days about what's going on with me in terms of school, the radio station, and life.
